Things I have learnt today
- We actually do have flowers in the overgrown weed-pit we like to call a garden:

We’ve been enjoying a heat wave over the last week or so, so the paddling pool has been unearthed from the bottom of the pile of junk in the shed and put to good use. It even has a sun shade on it, so today Neil & I were in there along with the girls for a quick cool down.

Lily didn’t want to eat her dinner tonight, saying she was too tired. This is a common ploy. She will be sooooo tired at the dinner table, Read the rest of this entry »
I don’t want you thinking I’m a control freak or anything.
However, I have a wee… issue … with playdoh.

When Lily goes to nursery they fill in her “Home Book” which details what she ate, and gives a little summary of what she did each day. Today according to her book, she climbed up onto a crate, and proceeded to sing to everyone. Apparently it “sounded like songs from High School Musical.”
That will be because she’s obsessed with HSM at the moment, and that’s all we ever listen to…
Today is our 14th wedding anniversary. I’m still in shock. I worked out this morning (in my head, so the maths might be completely wrong) that I’ve been married for 2/5 of my life!
So to celebrate, we’re dropping the kids at nursery, then heading to the cinema at lunch time. Yay!
We had a lovely day today at the annual Lush Party to celebrate Tia’s 28th birthday (yes, we celebrate Tia’s 28th birthday every year. It’s easier that way. Wish I’d thought of it.).
I’m working at a client site today, and just received a text message from Tia saying that she’d managed to fix the problem we were having with my photography website. Seeing as it’s my lunch break (I’d never goof off on company time, natch), I thought I’d have a look at the finished result. Only to find this:
Now that I’ve finally stopped laughing, I’m not sure this is actually that funny…
So I rushed out to the shops on Saturday to buy the new Green Day CD, and have been playing it in the car at every possible opportunity (which hasn’t been that often, as I’m usually overrulled by the small people and their requests for “sunshine” or the Tweenies.
I must have played it a few times though, because last night Lily started singing:
Do you know the Annabay?
Do you like the Annabay?
What colour is your Annabay?
“Annabay” apparently refers to the baby Annabel dolls that we have. Of course.
The original lyrics to that one are fairly innocuous:
Do you know the enemy?
Do you know the enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy?
But the CD does deserve it’s Parental Guidance sticker on the front. Guess it won’t be long before I have to stop playing it in the car.
On the positive side, it’s a good reason to buy an ipod, isn’t it?
